Using a Mandolin – vegetable slicer

We received these a few days ago. I took one out of the box and put the camera in Tonys hand (my husband and movie director). And voila! Very easy to use.

I loved it so much I took one home.

Very handy. I use it all the time.

I Love Jamie Oliver + a great short video

Cooking shows! I could watch them all day. Well…I could watch the few TV chefs I love all day. I don’t love them all. But…Nigella,of course, Ina Garten the Barefoot Contessa, just to see her kitchen (the old one in the first few seasons as well as the new one).

And, Jamie Oliver. His last two seasons – Jamie at Home and most especially the 30 Minute Meals. One of the best cooking shows on TV at the moment.

Not just the cooking, I mean we all LOVE his enamel baking tins. You have all been in asking me for them. I have posted enamel baking tins around Australia. (Still lots in stock).

But also, the presentation. So relaxed and interesting. Serving food laid out on a wooden board. – I am inspired to find more timber boards for the shop.

Anyway, here he is, explaining a little of his philosophy about presentation. Set in his 30 minute meal kitchen. Have a look.

Jingle all the Way – how lovley is this !

It is two days before Christmas. The weather in Noosa is bliss! The water is clear and the sky is blue. Everything we ‘Noosans’ love. Everything people travel to Noosa for.

Did you go to Lions Park on Gympie Tce. last week to sing Christmas carols? What a terrific crowd this year.

Speaking of Christmas carols. You have certainly heard about videos on YouTube that ‘go viral’.

This one has had nearly 3 million hits. And no wonder.

I could not think of a more wonderful way to wish you all Merry Christmas.

We are closed on Christmas Day. Back open on Boxing Day.

New Display with a Beachy Theme

Well, it’s Christmas in Noosa. The beaches are BEAUTIFUL. The water is as clear as I have ever experienced it.

After a life affirming swim in the river last week, I was inspired to develop a display for the shop with a beach theme. Not unusual for my business. We have a shell section and a ‘whitewashed beach decor’ wall, and this is a lovely addition to those.

We are in the middle of our HUGE 12 Days of Christmas Event.

This always adds a level of excitement and joy to each day. This will end on Christmas Eve. But before this, on Friday night 23rd, we will host a VIP only night of shopping with some wonderful bargains on the night. A great night to come in and have a look at this new display.

Frilly Tops on Jars

So, I made a quick movie in the store yesterday. Yes, you will have to start calling me Steven Spielberg.

I knew the camera added 10lbs but in this recent filming experience I found it also adds 10years.

Anyway, just wanted to show you the frilly tops for jars. In case you were thinking of giving away a jar of mustard or biscuits this Christmas. Nothing says homemade like a floral, frilly top on your jar.

Tips for Wrapping Christmas Biscuits

Have you ever been to the Joy of Baking website?

Honestly you could spend HOURS there. But take coffee and cake with you to the computer, the demonstrations make you very hungry.

There are hundreds of recipes and videos on wonderful things to bake.

The link I have given you if you click on Joy of Baking above is to their page on Christmas baking. My topic de jour. Just click on HOME to get to their home page.

This video offers suggestions on how to present Christmas cookies if you are giving them as a gift. Nice simple ideas.

I REALLY like the biscotti in a coffee cup idea.

Chocolate and hazelnut biscotti. The person who first combined chocolate with hazelnut deserves a medal.

OK. so now I’m thinking, as gifts for Christmas, parmesan biscuits in the shapes of stars and Christmas trees AND chocolate and hazelnut biscotti in coffee cups.

Simpsons Mitre 10 – The Movie

OK! You may think I have a theme. My last post was the Whoopie Pie movie, and now……..

This is how this came about, and if this is my 15 minutes of fame, I am disappointed.

Noosa Juction has a new web page. Each of the traders in the junction is represented. We can have a basic listing or go for the Rolls Royce listing which includes a short promotional movie.

I chose the promotional video which we shot last week.
